Check out all our expert NRL tips for Round 9 below:

Game 1 – Cronulla Sharks vs North Queensland Cowboys, Thursday 27th April, 7.50pm

The Sharks won back-to-back games for the first time this season last week and should have little trouble making it three in a row at home against the out of sorts Cowboys. The Cowboys have been a major disappointment over the opening rounds of the season but did show some fight to beat the improved Knights last week. With Nicho Hynes in such sparkling form and their outside backs scoring tries like they are going out of fashion; I can't see anything other than an easy Sharks win and they should cover the 11.5 point spread on Dabble.

Expert NRL Tip: Handicap – Sharks

Game 2 – Parramatta Eels vs Newcastle Knights, Friday 28th April, 6pm

Last year this would have been an easy win for the Eels at home, but much has changed in the past 12 months. The Eels have struggled to maintain the momentum of last season when they charged into the Grand Final in such stirring fashion and the Knights look like a much-improved outfit even though they lost narrowly last week. Bradman Best is a beast for the Knights, and I like him for an anytime try.

Expert NRL Tip: Anytime Try Scorer – Bradman Best

Game 3 – Brisbane Broncos vs South Sydney Rabbitohs, Friday 28th April, 8pm

This shapes as one of the games of the season with both teams in sensational form and brimming with exciting attacking talent. The Broncos back line is simply awesome when they get moving and Adam Reynolds is doing a sensational job as general and will love coming up against his old team. When the Broncos cut loose, few teams can match them for pace and power and with all this in mind, I can't find a winner, but I like the overs.

Expert NRL Tip: Total Points – Over

Game 4 – Canberra Raiders vs Dolphins, Saturday 29th April, 3pm

Coming off the bye, the Raiders are firm favourites to beat the Dolphins at home, but I find that a little bit perplexing. Wayne Bennett's men fresh from a remarkable comeback win over the Titans and are clearly a team playing for each other with plenty of momentum. The Raiders haven't been great at home this year, but it will still be a test for the Dolphins. However, with confidence clearly on their side, I like the Dolphins at plus 5.5.

Expert NRL Tip: Margin – Dolphins

Game 5 – Manly Sea Eagles vs Gold Coast Titans, Saturday 29th April, 5.30pm

Manly were awful last week and were lucky to beat the toothless Tigers - they need to improve markedly to beat the Titans, a team with plenty of strike power but a lack of resolve that was clear in the capitulation to the Dolphins last week. To add to their woes, Manly are without champion fullback Turbo Tom but I like them at –4.5 - paying $2.10 - at halftime.

Expert NRL Tip: 1st Half Handicap – Sea Eagles

Game 6 – Penrith Panthers vs Wests Tigers, Saturday 29th April, 7.35pm

The poor Tigers just can't seem to buy a win this season. They came close to beating Manly last weekend but just lacked the confidence to go on with the job. If Penrith are in the mood, things could get ugly very quickly this weekend, but the Panthers were off their game against the Rabbitohs and got punished for it. I think that loss would have hurt Penrith and they will want to take out their frustrations on the Tigers as a result. Take the Panthers 13 plus.

Expert NRL Tip: Winning Margin – Panthers 13+

Game 7 – New Zealand Warriors vs Sydney Roosters, Sunday 30th April, 2pm

The Roosters are entitled to be firm favourites for this one, but the Warriors have a new resolve this season and at home, it wouldn't surprise me for them to come close to upsetting the Roosters in what shapes as a very tight encounter. A tough game to pick when all is taken into consideration, but the Roosters have that tough hard professionalism to get the job done and I liked them at -5.5.

Expert NRL Tip: Margin – Roosters

Game 8 – St. George Illawarra Dragons vs Canterbury Bulldogs, Sunday 30th April, 4.05pm

Neither of these two old rivals are expected to make the finals, but it's a big game for both as they finish the round on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons showed plenty of spirit against the Roosters last week while the Bulldogs are battling a savage injury toll. This should be another close one but with their confidence boosted by their strong showing on Anzac Day, I think the dragons can overcome the 2.5 start on the Dabble app.

Expert NRL Tip: Margin – Dragons
