Check out all our expert NRL tips for Round 18 below:

Game 1 – Cronulla Sharks vs St. George Illawarra Dragons, Thursday 29th June, 7.50pm

All eyes will be on the Dragons marquee man Ben Hunt in the big local derby – assuming he actually plays! The Dragons were a disaster again last weekend whereas the Sharks enjoyed a bye, and it came at a good time with several players carrying injuries. Sharks to win well – go the halftime/fulltime double.

Game 2 – New Zealand Warriors vs South Sydney Rabbitohs, Friday 30th June, 6pm

A few months ago, the Rabbitohs would have been red hot favourites to win this one – but much has changed in recent weeks and the in-form Warriors are now given a 1.5 point edge by the bookies. I think the Kiwi side is going well enough to cover the spread against the out of form Bunnies.

Game 3 – Melbourne Storm vs Penrith Panthers, Friday 30th June, 8pm

With all the Origin players back on deck, this game shapes up as a beauty. Both teams had good wins with key players missing last week, showing off their great depth, and I think at home, the Storm will just get the money by 1-12.

Game 4 – Canberra Raiders vs Gold Coast Titans, Saturday 1st July, 3pm

Two upset last round winners should make for a fascinating clash in the ACT. The Raiders were sharp in disposing of the Roosters while the Titans shocked the Broncos just days after sacking coach Justin Holbrook. I see the Raiders winning and like the option of a Jordan Rapana anytime try – he keeps getting to the line.

Game 5 – North Queensland Cowboys vs Wests Tigers, Saturday 1st July, 5.30pm

The Tigers are one team tipsters can rely on – they are consistent – but for all the wrong reasons. They seem destined for the wooden spoon whereas the Cowboys have found their form after a slow start to the year. In Townsville...Cowboys 13 plus.

Game 6 – Brisbane Broncos vs Dolphins, Saturday 1st July, 7.35pm

The poor old Dolphins are discovering how tough life is in the big league after a brilliant start to the year. They’d love to turn things around over the biggest team in Queensland but I just can’t see it. The Broncos were poor against the Titans last week and will be out to make amends – I think this one could get ugly. Again I like the home side by 13 plus.

Game 7 – Canterbury Bulldogs vs Newcastle Knights, Sunday 2nd July, 2pm

Two of the season’s big disappointments meet in the early game on Sunday and this shapes as a tricky game. Both are capable of playing patches of good footy, but both are also inconsistent and struggle to convert pressure into points. I have no idea who will win but I like the chances of a Bradman Best anytime try – he is a BEAST.

Game 8 – Manly Sea Eagles vs Sydney Roosters, Sunday 2nd July, 4.05pm

Speaking of inconsistent teams, these two have been up and down like yoyos in 2023. Both were poor last weekend and for two teams that the experts all predicted would play finals footy, they seem destined to miss the boat. I’m tipping an upset here – the Roosters are low on confidence and have troops out, and I think Manly head-to-head is a good value bet.
